The Super Falcons’ captain for the day, Chiamaka Nnadozie, emerged as the hero by saving Sinclair’s penalty, displaying her remarkable goalkeeping skills.
Throughout the game, the Super Falcons adopted a defensive strategy, staying behind the ball and looking to capitalize on counterattacks.
As Canada pressed forward and tried to force the issue, Nnadozie once again proved to be the hero, making another crucial save to deny substitute Evelyne Viens. Her exceptional performance in goal played a vital role in helping the Super Falcons secure a well-earned draw against the strong Canadian side.
As the match entered its final moments, the referee signaled for eight minutes of extra time, and the Super Falcons found themselves gradually dropping deeper in defense.
Unfortunately, the Super Falcons were dealt a blow when they were reduced to 10 players as youngster Deborah Abiodun was sent off after consultation with the VAR.
Despite being a player down, the Super Falcons displayed immense resilience and determination to hold on and secure an important point. Their solid defensive effort helped them earn a well-deserved draw against Canada.
