What happens when culture, history, and drama collide? Femi Adebayo invites audiences to discover the answer in his directorial debut, Seven Doors. Premiering on Netflix this December 13, the limited series takes viewers on a journey to 18th and 19th-century Nigeria, intertwining themes of love, power, tradition, and intrigue.
In Seven Doors, Adebayo steps into the regal shoes of a Yoruba king, while Chioma Akpotha stars as his Igbo queen. Together, they bring to life a tale of kingship, family, love, betrayal, and redemption. Their union, a symbol of cultural harmony, faces upheaval when a Hausa investor arrives with plans that clash with the kingdom’s traditions. As tensions rise, the story unfolds against the vibrant backdrop of historical and cultural forces that shape their world.
Fresh off the success of Jagun Jagun, which earned accolades at the AMVCA and AMAA, Femi Adebayo is set to captivate audiences once again. Reflecting on his passion for the project, he shared:
“This is Seven Doors! A limited series born from blood, sweat, and unwavering dedication. The entire crew and cast poured their hearts into making this as authentic and compelling as possible. Trust me, this is unlike anything you’ve ever seen before!”
Joining Adebayo and Akpotha is an impressive ensemble cast, including Adebayo Salami, Ronke Oshodi, Muyiwa Ademola, Jide Kosoko, Aisha Lawal, Yinka Quadri, and Gabriel Afolayan. Together, they promise a cinematic experience rich in culture, drama, and history.
