Nollywood luminary Ini Dima-Okojie takes on a poignant role in the upcoming film “Kill Boro,” portraying a housewife trapped in a cycle of abuse at the hands of her husband. The film, directed by Courage Obayuwana, delves into the complexities of family dynamics, survival, and the repercussions of life-altering decisions.
In the heart-wrenching narrative, Dima-Okojie’s character finds herself in dire need of rescue, with her son Elijah, portrayed by Kosisochukwu Ogboruche, determined to liberate her from the clutches of domestic turmoil. To bring an end to his mother’s suffering, Elijah strikes a perilous deal with a notorious gang leader, played by Greg ‘Teddy Bear’ Ojefua, to eliminate his abusive father, portrayed by Philip Asaya.
However, the journey towards redemption is far from straightforward in this gripping action thriller. With adrenaline-fueled sequences featuring speeding boats, armed confrontations, and palpable tension, “Kill Boro” promises a riveting cinematic experience.
The film boasts a stellar ensemble cast, including Brutus Richard, Michael Dappa, Blessing Uzero, Beloved Osagie, Hilda Dokubo, and Yibo Koko. Penned by Priye Diri with additional writing by Kester Nsirim, “Kill Boro” is produced by Ikechukwu Omenaihe, Steve Gukas, and Dotun Olakunri.
Scheduled for release on Prime Video on March 30, “Kill Boro” forms part of the First Features initiative spearheaded by Gukas and Olakunri. This initiative aims to empower emerging filmmakers by providing them with training and resources to bring their debut feature films to fruition.
“Kill Boro” joins the ranks of other First Features projects, including “It Blooms in June,” directed by Korede Azeez, and “Love and Life,” helmed by Ruben Reng. With notable talents like Susan Pwajok, Femi Jacobs, Kiki Omeli, Kem Ajieh, and Michael Dappa gracing the screen, these films promise to captivate audiences with their compelling narratives and stellar performances.
Kill Boro will premiere on Prime Video on March 30.
