Chadwick Boseman, the beloved star of Black Panther, will be honored with a posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, marking a significant milestone three years after his untimely passing at the age of 43 due to colon cancer.
Known for his powerful portrayal of the superhero Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe from 2016 to 2019, Boseman’s name will be among the esteemed celebrities to be immortalized on the iconic landmark in 2024.
Joining him in achieving this career milestone next year will be esteemed individuals such as Michelle Yeoh, Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Christina Ricci, Ken Jeong, Kerry Washington, Gwen Stefani, Eugene Levy, Mario Lopez, and Sheryl Lee Ralph.
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce’s Walk of Fame Selection Panel made the announcement, carefully selecting honorees from various genres of the entertainment industry. Chair and Walk of Fame spokesperson Ellen K expressed excitement about the chosen individuals and anticipated their reactions as they become part of Hollywood’s history, with their stars unveiled on the world-famous walkway.
In addition to his iconic role as Black Panther, Boseman left an indelible mark with films like 42, Marshall, Get on Up, and Draft Day. Diagnosed with stage three cancer in 2016, he displayed incredible strength as he underwent numerous surgeries and chemotherapy in his valiant battle against the disease, as revealed by his family.
Chadwick Boseman’s posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame will serve as a lasting tribute to his immense talent, impact, and the profound legacy he left behind in the world of entertainment.
