Chef Adeyeye Adeola, popularly known as Chef Deo, is currently undertaking a challenge to surpass the previous record for the longest cooking marathon. This remarkable feat is taking place in the Ile-Oluji Local Government Area of Ondo State, Nigeria. The marathon started on June 30 and is set to conclude on July 6, 2023.
Recently, Chef Damilola, also known as Chef Dammy, completed a 120-hour cook-a-thon in the local government of Oye in Ekiti State. However, she clarified that her achievement was purely for fun and not an official attempt to break the Guinness World Records. Chef Dammy expressed her intentions to embark on an official record-breaking attempt in the near future.
In May, Hilda Effiong Bassey, also known as Hilda Baci, set an impressive new record for the cooking marathon by continuously cooking for an astounding 93 hours and 11 minutes. Following a thorough review of the evidence, Hilda Baci was officially declared a record holder and awarded her certificate.
Now, Chef Deo is determined to surpass Hilda Baci’s record by aiming to cook continuously for 150 hours. As of now, she has successfully completed 16 hours of non-stop cooking. Her dedication and perseverance will be put to the test as she strives to make history in the culinary world.
