If you’re looking for a cosy café in Highbury, near Finsbury Park or Clissold Park, Fink’s Salt and Sweet on Mountgrove Road is a must-visit. Nestled between Finsbury Park and Clissold Park, it’s a perfect spot for a delicious bite before or after exploring the area.
I visit Fink’s monthly, usually stopping by before my appointment at Tiny Hair and Beauty just down the street. Over the years, Fink’s has evolved. Originally a full café, it adapted after a flood, first becoming a takeaway spot and now offering some indoor seating once again.
Known for its fabulous sandwiches, incredible cakes, and excellent coffee, Fink’s is a local gem. Their menu features a rotating selection of fresh sandwiches. On my last visit, I enjoyed roasted aubergines with labneh on Dusty Knuckle sourdough. Other options include slow-cooked duck leg, fried chicken on a milk bun, or miso egg mayo with crispy shallots on potato sourdough. Vegan and meat options are always available.
If you have a sweet tooth, you’re in for a treat. Fink’s offers delights like triple chocolate cookies, tahini brownies, and oatmeal walnut and candied orange cake. Other irresistible choices include coffee cardamom and hazelnut cake, plum frangipane tart, and chocolate espresso cake.
I personally recommend their mango and vanilla cupcakes and buttermilk banana bread. Both are absolutely divine! Pair your treat with a hot or iced Scenery coffee, or opt for tea or a soft drink.
Whether you’re craving a filling sandwich, a decadent dessert, or just a great coffee, Fink’s Salt and Sweet is worth the visit. Stop by and discover this charming spot for yourself!
