The event, convened by Queen Ronke Ademiluyi Ogunwusi, runs from 22–23 August 2026 in London, bringing together industry professionals, designers, exhibitors and fashion lovers with the aim of increasing the visibility and sustainability of African and Black fashion brands through catwalk showcases, exhibitions and education.
Crafted with Ankara fabric, Tidal Bloom features sculptural silhouettes, hand beading and embroidered motifs. The pieces draw from the hidden beauty of aquatic ecosystems, balancing bold colours and patterns with refined craftsmanship.
“This collection is my way of celebrating Africa, the beauty of our textiles, and the skill of our artisans, while presenting African fashion in ways that are distinctive and unapologetically African,” Christopher said in the statement.
According to Christopher, Tidal Bloom has grown from decades of creating and designing for and with Africans, reflecting a deep and long-standing connection to the continent’s rich fashion heritage. She describes African fashion not simply as clothing, but as storytelling, culture and identity expressed through colour, texture and skill.
Africa Fashion Week London continues to grow as a key platform for African designers to gain international exposure, connecting creative talent with a global audience of industry professionals and fashion lovers. Her participation places Bibi Christophers firmly among the brands shaping the future of African fashion on the world stage.
