Samsung, the renowned consumer electronics brand in Nigeria, has announced the launch of the Galaxy A14 5G. This latest addition to the popular Galaxy A series aims to provide a comprehensive package of the latest Galaxy innovations at an affordable price, making advanced technology accessible to all, particularly Airtel Nigeria customers. The device was unveiled on June 19, 2023, in an exclusive partnership with Airtel Nigeria during their 5G service launch in Lagos.
Charles Lee, Managing Director of Samsung Nigeria, expressed that Samsung has been driving global 5G adoption with its extensive range of 5G devices and is now ready to replicate that success in Nigeria. He stated that the launch of the Galaxy A14 5G will result in the widest distribution of 5G devices by Samsung in the country.
According to the Samsung MD, the Galaxy A14 5G showcases Samsung’s premium design and incorporates industry-leading features such as 16GB RAM with RAM Plus and a 5000mAh battery. With a starting net effective price of only N122,000, the device will play a pivotal role in supporting Airtel’s mission of “re-imagining with 5G” and making it accessible to everyone.
In his speech, Carl Cruz, CEO of Airtel Nigeria, thanked Samsung for partnering with the network to democratize 5G accessibility and affordability in the country. The Airtel CEO emphasized that 5G should not be out of reach for the masses and highlighted the benefits of a 10x faster speed network, low latency, no lag, and features like 8K streaming available to both iOS and Android devices. Airtel aims to offer the most affordable 5G router with a special N30,000 offer and a partnership with the Samsung A14 5G model to deliver the most affordable 5G handset in the country.
Chika Nnadozie, Head of Marketing PR at Samsung Nigeria, mentioned that the Galaxy A14 5G embodies Samsung’s signature design philosophy, providing a premium feel within the mid-segment product range. The laser-patterned back cover enhances the stunning design, while the flat linear camera housing creates a seamless unibody silhouette. The Galaxy A14 5G will be available in three attractive colors: Dark Red, Light Green, and Black. Pre-orders for the device have already begun, and customers can expect exciting gifts.
Solomon Osibeluwo, Master Trainer MX at Samsung Nigeria, highlighted that the Galaxy A14 5G features a 6.6″ HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling. The edge-to-edge Infinity-V display offers a large screen experience for consumers to explore and create content. In terms of battery life, the device is equipped with a massive 5000mAh battery, providing up to two days of power. The sleeping app management feature puts unused apps to sleep, preventing them from running in the background and allowing users to focus on their most frequently used apps.
The camera setup of the Galaxy A14 5G includes a 50MP triple-lens rear camera with depth and macro lenses, enabling high-quality shots, and a 13MP selfie camera. The high-resolution camera allows users to capture fine details and ensures social media-ready pictures every time. The device also includes the Private Share feature, which utilizes blockchain technology to securely share photos and videos with other Galaxy users. It comes with four years of security updates and two OS upgrades, making it future-ready.
