The Porsche 911 remains the pinnacle of sportiness within the brand, but the Taycan is swiftly gaining ground, especially with the introduction of the powerful Porsche Taycan Turbo GT.
Key Highlights:
- Packs over 1,100 horsepower
- Accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.2 seconds
- Faster than the Model S Plaid on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife
While the Porsche Taycan typically doesn’t overshadow the 911, its performance occasionally challenges the iconic model. The Taycan Turbo S, in particular, has already left a lasting impression on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife. Now, Porsche unveils the Turbo GT, surpassing even the Turbo S in performance. The Turbo GT boasts an impressive 789 horsepower, but with launch control activated, it delivers a staggering 1,034 horsepower. And with overboost engaged, the power surges to 1,108 horsepower for a brief burst. The maximum torque reaches 1,340 Nm.
With such immense power, the Taycan Turbo GT rockets from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.3 seconds. Opting for the Weissach package shaves this time down to 2.2 seconds, two-tenths quicker than the Turbo S. From 0 to 200 km/h, the Turbo GT achieves it in 6.6 seconds (or 6 seconds with the Weissach package), 4 seconds faster than its predecessor. Additionally, the top speed increases to 305 km/h compared to the Turbo S’s 295 km/h. The estimated driving range is 555 km according to the WLTP cycle.
Beyond its sheer power, the Taycan Turbo GT features enhancements to handle corners better. It comes standard with the Dynamic package, featuring a Porsche Active Ride suspension tailored specifically for this variant. Additionally, it boasts lighter 21-inch wheels, lighter brakes, and an overall weight reduction of 75 kilograms compared to the Turbo S. Further weight savings can be achieved with the Weissach package, trimming another 70 kilograms.
The price of the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT, with or without the Weissach package, is approximately €249,900.
