A fundraiser to support tuition and learning resources for young chess players in the Makoko community .
Café One in partnership with Chess In The Slums Africa and Vestar Coffee are looking to raise funds to support ten (10) children from Makoko community who enjoy playing Chess but are not enrolled in school due to inadequate resources and dilapidated learning structures.
Whayinna Foundation currently operates a school in Makoko and has partnered with Chess in Slum Africa to enrol these children. The tuition per session for a child is N150,000
The Chess and Coffee event is aimed at raising N1.5m to send ten (10) children to school come in the next school session. The funds will be used to purchase learning resources and pay for tuition.
