About this event
The Race to Curb Malnutrition in Nigeria: Charity With Food 2021
According to UNICEF, malnutrition has left over 88,000 children at the risk of dying with Nigeria having the second highest burden of stunted children in the world, a national prevalence rate of 32 percent of children under five.
Who we are
This is why FOOD MEETS NAIJA (FMN End Hunger Initiative) was established. An initiative to help build awareness on the importance of food and nutrition, empower women and youth, create clean water in the environment, ultimately to curb the menace of malnutrition and hunger among hard to reach children and communities in Nigeria.
What we do
FMN End Hunger Initiative has three major initiatives that have been propelled towards eliminating malnutrition and hunger.
INITIATIVE 01
CHARITY WITH FOOD: Involves feeding the less privileged children and people in accordance to the SDG 2, Zero Hunger.
INITIATIVE 02
FMN Empowerment Program: A program to impact Women and Youth with great skills to put good food on the table. This is in accordance to the SDG 8, decent work and the economic growth.
INITIATIVE 03
Clean Water for All: Borehole Installation for small rural communities as we have seen communities suffer from lack of access to clean water, which in turn create an avenue for Cholera which has claimed lives of people. According to the SDG 6, we have a project dedicated to installing boreholes in communities as an avenue to curb malnutrition.
So far…
We have carried out a number of outreach that has seen tremendous turnouts and positive feedback.

– In December 2019, we had a CWF Mega Outreach, where we invited a total of 15 orphanage homes, feeding a total of 500 children altogether with the help of friends, family and sponsors.
– In December 2019, we reached out to 1,000 children in three states In Nigeria; Ibadan, Abeokuta, and Lagos State. The dates were 14th of December, 21st of December and 28th of December in Ibadan, Abeokuta and Lagos respectively.
– In December 2020, despite the pandemic we visited Ajegunle community and provided gift boxes of clothes and food items for over 300 children and families.
– On the 18th of December 2021, we will be having a dynamic approach towards curbing malnutrition and hunger in Nigeria. We will be organising a day empowerment program, a novelty match and feeding 1,000 children at Campus mini stadium in Lagos Island, Lagos state.
