Interview with Ibi Martins, CEO of Goodlife Enterprises

**Q: Ibi, take us back to the beginning. How did it all start?**
**Ibi Martins:** We started back in 1996, around the same era that platforms like BellaNaija and Linda Ikeji were emerging. It was an exciting time for digital media and storytelling, especially within the African space. We had the vision and the platform—but like many journeys, ours came with challenges.
**Q: What kind of challenges did you face?**
**Ibi Martins:** Internally, we experienced setbacks that slowed our growth. There were moments when things didn’t move as expected. But those challenges built resilience. They forced us to adapt, rethink our structure, and stay focused on our long-term vision.
**Q: Despite that, Goodlife is still here today. What does that mean to you?**
**Ibi Martins:** That, in itself, is success. We’ve seen many platforms come and go over the years, but we’re still standing. Success isn’t always about rapid growth—it’s about consistency, endurance, and not backing down. If you can wake up the next day and still keep going, you’re already winning.
**Q: What is the vision for Goodlife moving forward?**
**Ibi Martins:** We want to grow our audience, increase engagement, and continue adding meaningful value. Goodlife Magazine is built on positivity—no negativity. We focus on reflecting Black and African culture in a way that inspires, educates, and empowers. There’s a powerful story within our communities, and we want to keep telling it.
**Q: You talk a lot about community. How can the community support Goodlife?**
**Ibi Martins:** It’s a two-way relationship. We are here to serve the community—but the community also plays a vital role in helping us grow. People can support us by simply engaging—reading our articles, visiting the website regularly, sharing our content, and being part of the conversation.
For businesses, brands, and organisations, there’s even more opportunity. Sponsors and advertisers can partner with us, take up advertising space, and support the platform as we expand. We have a lot to offer in terms of visibility, audience reach, and cultural impact. When the community and businesses come together to support platforms like ours, it creates a cycle of growth that benefits everyone.
**Q: Finally, where can people learn more about you and your work?**
**Ibi Martins:** They can visit my website at [www.ibimartins.com](http://www.ibimartins.com) to learn more about me, my journey, and the vision behind Goodlife Enterprises.
