Gabby Thomas, the Paris Olympics triple gold medallist, has achieved another milestone by being appointed to the Board of Trustees of the Women’s Sports Foundation (WSF). This appointment is part of WSF’s celebration of its 50th anniversary, with Thomas joining six other distinguished professionals on the board.
WSF CEO Danette Leighton expressed excitement about the new trustees, saying, “Each member brings unique skills, perspectives, and experiences that will guide us into the next 50 years. Our mission of empowering girls and women in sports is as vital today as it was in 1974.”
Thomas, a decorated track star, captured three gold medals at the Paris Olympics, excelling in the 200m, 4x100m relay, and 4x400m relay events. She is widely recognized for her achievements and is a respected figure in athletics.
In addition to her athletic accomplishments, Thomas graduated from Harvard University in 2019 with a degree in neurobiology and global health. She later earned a master’s degree in epidemiology from the University of Texas Health Science Center.
Beyond sports, Thomas advocates for equity in athletics and diversity in STEM fields. She actively uses her platform to inspire young women, particularly women of color, to pursue careers in science and technology.
