Do you remember the iconic R&B hit “Let Me Love You” by Mario? If not, let me refresh your memory with these unforgettable lyrics:
“You should let me love you, let me be the one to give you everything you want and need…”
Sounds familiar now, right?
The man behind this timeless classic recently appeared on The Jennifer Hudson Show, taking fans on a nostalgic journey. He shared heartfelt stories about how music and his mom played crucial roles in shaping his life and career.
Mario revealed that music wasn’t just a passion but a way to bond with his mom and build his confidence from a young age. He fondly recounted:
“My mother got me started; she was the one who instilled confidence in me at a very young age. She got me a mic that tuned into the radio, which she probably regretted later. At four or five years old, I’d grab that mic any chance I got, singing along to my favorite songs on the radio. I didn’t know the lyrics, just the melodies, but I sang Whitney Houston and Babyface like I owned them.”
He also spoke about his latest album, “Glad You Came,” and the inspiration behind it. For Mario, this album isn’t just about the music—it’s a heartfelt tribute to his fans who’ve stood by him over the years.
*“I called it ‘Glad You Came’ because I wanted to invite my fans on this new journey with me. When I perform and see fans who’ve supported me for years, it’s incredible. Some now have families, others have started businesses. We’ve grown together.
Fans share their personal journeys, and I get to be the soundtrack of their lives. So, this album is as much theirs as it is mine.”*
Mario’s story is a testament to the power of music, family, and the unwavering connection between artists and their fans. Through his new album, he continues to inspire and celebrate this beautiful journey together.
